Pets are fostered in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. We do out of state adoptions, but we no longer arrange transport. 

Hi there. My name is Babette. I am so glad you stopped to see me. I’m a small, gentle, sweet tempered, shy and quiet little Beagle girl. People tell me I may be a purebred 13” beagle girl.   Since I arrived in foster care from a shelter, there is no way to know my background. I found myself in a noisy shelter after being picked up with my beagle sister as strays while we were out wondering rural roads alone. Since arriving in my foster home, I have begun to come out of my shell and show the happy, loving and friendly side of myself. It was not an easy feat for me in such a short time, as I arrived very afraid of all the strange new sights and sounds, traffic, and new unfamiliar people in my new city life. I am happy to greet new dogs and the other animals I have encountered here but am still a bit shy of new people until I get comfortable with them. I have been working very hard and am making amazing progress on being a very good girl and learning to be crate trained, potty trained and how to enjoy my new exciting life. I now even give gentle little kisses to those I know well, how to walk on a leash with them, and  to snuggle for belly rubs (I really Love belly rubs). I will need a person who is experienced with shy timid dogs and a quiet, patient, caring and calm home and to allow me a bit more time I need to relax and gain more confidence to be the fabulous pet that I’m told I will be. Young active children still frighten me. I would welcome another little dog to play with and show me the way to my new life. I am spayed and up to date on all of my shots and on flea and heartworm preventatives so I can stay healthy. If you have room in your heart and home for me, I would love to meet you. All you have to do is complete an adoption application and my foster mom will arrange for us to meet very soon.
