Hooray! I have just arrived in rescue and am receiving all the care I deserve. I know it won't take me long to find a furrever home! If you think I am the right pet for you just go to our home page and submit an application. My foster mom will contact you right away!
Taffy is a shy but very friendly tiny 8 year old female Maltese who weighs less than 10 pounds. Taffy would prefer a household where she can spend her days lounging on your lap or being near her people. Taffy is very attentive and follows her foster mom everywhere. She is quite & calm, but will announce sounds outside or people coming to the door. She gets along well with the other small older dogs in her foster home and with the few cats she has met. She does well on a leash and loves short walks and long car rides.
Taffy was surrendered by family members following the death of her long-time owner and is having a difficult adjustment to life without him. Would need a home aware of her special needs and willing to be patient through her transitions. She is currently relearning her potty training and learning to spend short periods alone.
We would love to see her go to a home where she is not crated for many hours since she has spent most of her years spending her days and nights in close contact with her special elderly person. Children frighten this shy little girl who has lead a sheltered life. She would prefer no children. At one point in her life there were suspected seizures but she has been off medication for over a year.
Taffy is spayed and up to date on all shots and has been on regular heartworm preventative, recently groomed. Suggested donation $300
