Has arrived in rescue. look at all those wrinkles! No, he's not sad... he's just showing his Bloodhound ancestry. Now neutered, microchipped and ready for placement. Requested donation for Basil's adoption is $205. UPDATE FROM BASIL'S FOSTER MOM10/24/04: Basil is a sweet love ! His perfect family would be either, a place where someone is always home or a guy with a pick-up who takes his dog with him everywhere. He loves the outdoors, he is kinda peculiar in that, if you put him on the tie-out outside the door (expecting him to step off the porch to relieve himself) he just sits there..he won't leave the porch. He wants YOU to go with him. When you then put the leash on him he runs out there and does his business...the leash method is the ONLY one that works...no matter how bad he has to go. When you let him run free he WON'T leave you, if you head back he comes flying, he wants his companion with him constantly. He rubs noses with the friendly cat, they are friends, the mean cat whacked his nose, he just steps aside when she comes his way. He is afraid of the donkeys and barks at them from a distance. He is very good at guarding...the least noise he is up growling and barking...not loudly, He loves kids, not a bit of aggravation with them when they are aggravating. Not much on romping around the house and playing, more of a "let's sit here calmly by the fire while you rub my chest" kinda guy. He will stick to his family like glue ! Bottom line, big baby, probably separation anxiety, outdoorsy person's dog. Oh, he gets his feeling's hurt easily; if he gets yelled at, he STAYS hurt looking until you tell him he is OK. ***Basil has been adopted and is moving to Akron, OH.
